Updates to our French Methodology
Following the latest guidelines from the 25th July
Recent updates have been made to the French methodology within our platform following the new version presented by the CGDD on July 25th. These adjustments impact the calculation of durability coefficients, French scores, and PEF scores.
Key Updates Include:
Non-Physical Durability Adjustment
- Simplified Criteria: Removal of “material” and “commercialization duration” index.
- Refined Coefficients: Adjusting the non-physical durability range from [0.5;1.5] to [0.67;1.45]
Repair Intensity Index
Stricter Cost Thresholds: Lower thresholds for repair costs, making it more stringent and cost-effective for items like T-shirts (€20 to €10).
Range Breadth Index
Increased Differentiation: Threshold increased to 50,000+ references (previously 12,000+).
French Score Calculation Adjustments
- Durability Multipliers: Non-physical durability multiplier is now applied.
- Days of use = Average days of use * Non physical durability.
- French Methodology: The intrinsic durability and repairability multipliers are not currently considered.
PEF Score Calculation Adjustments (Based on Days of Use)
- Durability Multipliers: Combination of intrinsic durability and repairability multipliers
- Days of use = Average days of use * Intrinsic durability * Repairability
- Extrinsic Durability Multiplier: Fixed at 1 (covering holistic or emotional durability).
Simplified Score Visualization
- French Scores: Marked with French flags.
- European Scores: Indicated with European flags.
- Official Scores: Flagged with a “law icon” (for PEF Score/days of use and French Score).
Upcoming Adjustment
Automatic calculation of the French Score using the French database.
